Gosh all you women do is complain

Okay so I totally need to catch up with all my schoolwork ! I'm missing a couple blog posts, which I apologize for to my readers and professor...I guess I'm not that good at keeping promises >.< so this blog post will act as my weekly person post for last week like February 22 or something ?? What shall I rant about?? Hmm I think I'll talk about my finally restored happiness that I achieved last week?! Well I was having some minor drama with some close friends, I finally resolved most of the issues ! Not all but enough for now to be satisfied with, I've made some personal changes and have added and deleted people from my life which is great because now I have one less stress ! And another issue was my grandma's French poodle being attacked and injured by a pit bull caused a lot of distress with our family. My grandma spent more than a thousand dollars on his medical bills alone! Can dogs get insurance? He was so sick going in and out of the hospital, his stitches kept opening and we then found he had internal organ damages, how horrible, and so they stayed in Compton where the accident happened haven't became back home to Palmdale. The owner of the pit isn't paying up and wants to be taken to court, it's a very stressful issue because meanwhile my grandmother is over there I am loaded up with more responsibility around the house meanwhile my mom goes to school. It sucks because I am in charge of 4 kids while she's gone, the outcomes of those days/nights = gray hairs! But we visited grandma and it seems like the dog is doing better, so hopefully she'll be back soon. That is my rant for last week !

www.abominable.cc Chapter 3!

So this is the beginning to Chapter 3 of the abominable Charles Christopher. It's a bit of a weird start, it's different that's the for sure; the author's style has drastically changed. Normally the comic style of the panels are in a different kind of frame and the colors are different. This page seems like watercolors were used, dark watercolors because the page almost seems scary a little. To me it did though, I don't really grasp what is going on here either. It's an interesting start to a new chapter. we have this human kind of silhouette being stranded alone without chance of survival in a hot area. In the 5th panel the silhouette looks almost like Charles Christopher, so maybe this is the story of how he became? Maybe Karl is going to start giving us Charles history?!  I just hope ext week's piece gives us more answers!

Speaker for the Dead Fan Art

This is my Speaker for the Dead fan art with a little bit of a fan fiction. It is very crappy and hard to tell what is going on, I'll explain, so please excuse my lack of art skills. In this picture we have planets and stars in space, which are the green/brown bubbles. the white dots are stars, and the bluish lines are space travel lines. Then we have Lusitania Colony zoomed in. The little black awkward peanut looking object is Valentine's space craft. The stick figures is Valentine and her family looking at Ender's dead body which has been cut open by a pequineno which is what is standing next to him with a bloody knife in his hand. His organs have been placed out and a seed was implanted in his chest cavity, right away roots start growing out, which is different because humans didn't get a tree grown out of them. He was cut open right next to the father tree forest. The rest of the story is a mystery. Was Andrew a magical being?

Video Space Assignment

For this assignment we were suppose to play a video game in which we move forward in time and space. This will be apart of a future assignment called " project space". So these pictures here show me trying to advance in the game Portal.

Complaining but making Promises

Procrastination will be the end of me.This semester I've decided to take 15 units, only God knows why I would do this to myself. I've definitely overdid myself by taking 5 time consuming classes. I thought I'd have learned my lesson last semester to not procrastinate and manage my time wisely, but i keep pushing back assignments telling myself "I have time" or "I'll do it later, it's not too bad" WRONG! I continue to spend my time doing other things of less importance and before I know it, I'm stressing out and am way behind on my homework. Or if I do start doing my work it's like I don't focus or give it all my all because I'll sit just about ALL day staring at the computer hoping my homework, or 500 word blog posts will magically appear. Sometimes I think I have time to do my work during my 45 minute break, and just leave it for then, but I usually don't. So this week's personal blog is a promise to myself and a secret promise to all my professors that I will quit procrastinating and give school my ALL.

Sci-fy isn't just for nerds???

For my English 114B class we were assigned to read two science fiction books by our professor. I was assigned to read Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card. When I realized that these were science fiction books I right away thought to myself  "Oh great, i'm not going to understand a thing!" then i made this face --> -_______- Not to mention I couldn't understand what was going on with the picture on the books covers. But anyway as soon as I opened Ender's game and started reading the first page,  I was HOOKED.
The book's first chapters didn't stall to tell the reader what was going on, right away we were already given so much action and detail. Not only was it lively and so detailed I could see the scenes in my head the author gave the reader conflict. In the first chapter Andrew is getting his monitor removed which is a big deal because he gets teased for having it taken off which gets him into a fight. All of this is in the first chapter! The book starts off exhilarating and continues to be exciting, it's like i was reading it and waiting to find out what happens next.  Ender's game is really interesting it kept me sitting on edge, since I first started reading it i didn't put the book down until i was one third of the way done with the book , which I found weird because I never thought a science fictional book would be of interest to me.
I was surprised by the author's way of making his books interesting and relate-able. It was relate-able in the sense that I compare myself to the age of Andrew and the other child soldiers in the book and what I would've felt like going through what they are going through at that age. Everybody was once 6-9 years old, but not everybody was capable of what Andrew was capable of. I found myself in such surprise and amusement, in my opinion the books were both suspenseful.
Speaker for the Dead wasn't as captivating as Ender's Game i'll admit but it was still a very interesting detailed book! I say it's not as interesting of a book because honestly I don't even remember the first couple chapters and it took me much longer to finish reading this book compared to Ender's Game, though the story and book itself nonetheless was also very exciting! I especially loved the pequinos, Ender's relationship with his sister and the other characters, and the frightening drama that this book had.
I loved how Orson Scott Card wrote the books, the futuristic style mixed with drama and emotion. He wrote these books in ways that his audience are able to relate to them. In my opinion Scott-Card is a brilliant writer, his ways with story telling is amazing. His writing style, character, details, suspense, action are all traits of what made the books so hard to put down.

Swans are such Jerks

This is once again another Charles Christopher comic page from www. abominable.cc! Once again Karl has given his audience another comic about the swans being jerks, as we can see in this panel the swan is angrily flapping it's wings at the ducklings and kicking them out of his presence. Since it is just one panel I don't know what the ducklings did to make the swan angry so i'm presuming it was nothing and the swan is just a grouch. I don't know but for some reason this reminds me of like an elderly neighbor yelling at the neighborhood kids for playing in his front yard. But anyway, Karl needs to bring Charles Christopher back!

Gone too soon

My English professor assigned us to make 3 weekly posts every week, 2 of which he assigns and one of our own. It's a little odd like writing paragraphs about our lives every week; it's cool though, just weird talking about oneself. But this week has definitely been an interesting one, so I think i'll recap on the many different things going on. One of the biggest i must say though was the loss of Whitney Houston. Many say Whitney was a female Michael Jackson, which I agree with, she was such an inspirational singer with such an amazing voice she touched many people's hearts. I hope finally finds peace wherever she has been taken.
Rest in Paradise Whitney Houston.

No Sleep

Haha I thought this was cute. In the first to the third panel is the birds singing their cute songs, but in the fourth panel (being that bats sleep during the day) they are annoying the bat and not letting him sleep. I can definitely relate to this page, being that college makes us "nocturnal creatures" my sleeping schedule is much different than the sleeping schedule of everybody in my house. So when I'm trying to go sleep everybody else is waking up and getting ready for their day or making so much noise, it makes it difficult to get some rest!

School. Gym. Sleep

This week I'd like to share with my readers about my newest interest. The Spring Semester of 2012 at CSUN brought their students the opening of the almost 100 million dollar Student Recreation Center. I have never joined a gym before, but took advantage of the free machines and weights that us CSUN students now have after paying our tuition and fees. And I fell IN LOVE. I spent the last week after all my classes in the gym, the time flies while I'm in there, the effect of the gym just makes me feel very good because I know that after the work I am able to get fit and healthy. I just wish I lived closer to campus so I can be in the SRC everyday, but unfortunately I am only able to go 3 times a week. Next week, I hope to conquer the built in rock climbing wall. For now my hobbies now consist of School, Gym, Sleep.

Date-Night reply

This is the most recent update from the web comic "the abominable Charles Christopher". We still haven't seen Charles in the new "season" of this comic, but we are presented with the bird family. I thought it was a bit harsh how the father bird was lying to his wife and was going out to drink once the kids fell asleep. Knowing the mother bird wanted to spend some alone cuddling time together she put him in his place and made him stay. I loved her expression in the 3rd panel; it shows the power of women. But it was still cute how he stayed in the fourth panel even though he didn't want to, though it his expression leads me to think that he's not staying the whole night.
