Spring Break

Spring break is here! Finally we get a week off from all the stressfulness of the college student life. Though I had planned to go and enjoy a couple days with friends in San Diego, I don't think that's going to happen anymore unfortunately. So I don't have any plans, just hope for a good time, day by day. If we have good weather, I will be at Venice hopefully every day almost! I don't really have much other than that to say, soooo Peace.

Budget Cuts?!

California State Universities are at a crisis with millions of dollars in state budget cuts, the universities are becoming less affordable and over populated. Many students feel like they are paying more for less, which is basically true. Our fees are raising by 10% if they don't get increased, the federal government will not fund CSUs.  Also, our classes are being cut! Soon there will be less enrollment for future students. In which, will delay the opportunity to get a college degree for the future generations. That being said, what about the current students who will most likely take one or two more years to finish college because they only allow to take up to 15 units or even worst they might not even get a degree! Families are devastated by the economic downturn. Many families rely solely on financial aid to help pay for their son or daughter's college career. Housing is also a problem the rents are very expensive, and the money is being cut. How is that going to work, with the high levels of jobless, and underemployment students? In my case, my mother is a single parent with the budget cuts and increasing fees, will sure bring plenty of stress over her shoulder. For the students that do not get financial aid that pay for their own education are force to take time off  either one or more semesters because they cannot afford the tuition.  As well for many students that have part times jobs, the huge gaps between schedules impacts the work schedule of them. Professors classes are being cancel and many of them are being over work, which creates another problem, poor quality education. I have always though overly worked and stress out instructors will only give poor quality education. If the students does not get the opportunity to finish their career will only affect future economy. How will a student who wants to do a doctors job do, if they never got the chance to get the appropriate skills, training, and knowledge that is requier to undertake the job?
I feel as thought the CSU officials are just increasing our tutiion costs in order to take home a bigger paycheck for themselves. Higher tuition prices and fees does not personally help the help, it's not in the students interest to not be able to afford a successful future.

Changes

Time for the weekly update!
So this week has definitely been hectic, no doubt about that, here's an overview:
Monday: Woke up late, class, studied for Statistics test, met dad on his way back from Washington on break, then went to Stats class. Tutoring after class for an extra hour. After that was done, I went to the gym and worked out with a friend, then I showered and hung out with a friend and had an Hermanas Unidas meeting.
Tuesday: No class, but i drove to school for a quick tutoring session for my statistics test.
Wednesday: Woke up EXTREMELY late and missed both my first and second class>.< Then I met up with a classmate and studied before my stastics test. Then 12:30 took my test. I think I got like a C hopefully! After I had SI class, which was kind of fun, only 4 people showed up to class. so it was interesting.
So now I'm getting tired of telling my day by day schedule... I'll sum everything else up. I died my hair, so i am no longer blonde. But I feel like the lady didn't do well of  a job on my hair and I have missing pieces of color. I paid too much to not have a well done color. And besides that, I found out I start spring break Wednesday since we don't have classes Friday and I don't have class Thursday, yay! Now I am trying to catch up on my work, because I totally forgot about my project space essay that I have to hurry and complete. The End

Spring is Here

Some people have no idea when the seasons officially change and are naive to the change until someone opens their eyes to it. So in this page the bunny (ironically a cool animal to choose due to Easter being in spring and a bunny used as a mascot for Easter) is hopping around chanting that spring has came. The raccoon are first confused, because of course they are unaware. Then in the last page they look at each other and question if it really is Spring.
I thought that the way the rabbit was hopping around happy that spring has came was a positive way to bring about the season change. Shows positivism that the raccoon might have needed. The End

Failure

We were assigned to attempt to do something and fail at it, then post about it. Well.... failing isn't really something new to me. But for this assignment I decided to try something i've never tried before for fear of failing and being rejected. What is it that a fearless bastard like me might have done you ask? I got comfortable around a guy! Doesn't seem like a big deal being in college and all does it? Well no, in my life that is the biggest deal ever; simply because it was with a guy I liked. Being comfortable around any guy who I have in the friend zone is no big deal, like who cares right?
So for my little experiment, I attempted to flirt with this guy (who's name will be Liam) by acting "cute". Normally I don't flirt back with a guy by saying cute stuff back when I'm told something cute. So Liam hit me with a a compliment and I saw my chance to fail, or hope to be successful, new to the game I replied with "I know I am but what are you". My response? No answer. A simple  "wow really". Haha I didn't know how to respond after that. Normally, I am a really corny person because it's fun to be dweeb-like. But in this instance Liam didn't play back, so I'll take it as an EPIC FAIL. Oh well! Peace & love

Charles Christopher 3.14

This page is really cute! Karl referenced an old tongue twister joke involving a woodchuck. In the second panel , after verifying that the animal was a woodchuck, the mice ask the woodchuck how much wood could it chuck which is the question asked in the tongue twister. The woodchuck attempts to answer the riddle, but then realizes with the mice laughing that they are trying to make fun of her. It's really cute

Red cross. Blood & cars

So for my personal post this week I want to share with you guys some cool stuff thats happens to me this week. So on Monday after class I for the first time ever donated blood for red cross! I've always been afraid to do so because I was worried to give a big amount of blood and then not have it be used. So everything went great! It wasn't as bad as I had expected until I was done! Well after they were scanning my pouch and tubes of blood, I have no idea how this happend, but the nurse left the pouch next to me and when she picked it up the blood was leaking!!!!! Awesome right? So not only had my blood been dripping and might not be of use anymore but it dropped onto my pants as well. All the workers in the van were making a big deal out of it, I was laughing though(but I think it was a nervous laugh). It was basically what I had always expected to happen, my blood not be of good use after its been removed. On the bright side though my body is making new blood now! So besides that horrific Monday, after donating blood I had to scurry through traffic to get to Los Angeles because my dad had called me last minute to tell me that I need to get my car over there because he is selling it. So I now do not own my own car and will be driving my sisters 2012 Ford Focus weekly and/or another one of my dad's car until I turn 18 will I have a car to call my own. Sad story. Well that's about it!

Outline

Introduction: I was assigned to read two science fiction books by Orson Scott Card, titled Enders Game and it's sequel Speaker for the Dead.  We have to write about a specific issue in the two books that interested us. I chose to write about how age plays a big role in the two books.
Thesis: Age plays a big role in what our society believes we are capable of doing and what we are allowed to do or better yet not do. For our English 114B class I was assigned to read two science fiction novels, Enders Game  being the first book and Speaker for the Dead  is the following book, when I started reading Ender’s game I was intrigued by the amazing details of activities that such a young boy was doing. Going on to read Speaker for the Dead  age was still playing a significant role within the characters. The capability of things that the characters were able to do in this time in space is what caught my interest most.

Sweet Child of Mine

I'm missing a personal post from last week. So i'll update it now with whatever I currently find amusing. Though I don't really have anything awesome to say, I'll update my bloggers with how my bunny, Daisy, is doing! I've posted some recent pictures of her, she's growing so much, it's crazy. My sister got a gray bunny, Thumper, and I took Daisy to Los Angeles to meet her. Daisy loved having some animal company, i attached a photo of them together below. It was so cute how Thumper is much smaller than Daisy yet they were cuddled up together, it was the cutest thing to see. Now Daisy is back to being alone and lonely in the backyard or in her cage. Hopefully I get the chance to take her out again soon. Until then I hope I can stand seeing her alone and irate.

Catching Up!

This weekend was so amazing !! It was my little sister and brother's birth celebration. The family plus cousins and aunts took a trip to Buena Park and went to the theme park Knotts Berry Farm. The last time I visited Knotts was in middle school. I used to love taking trips to Knotts as a child, so I was super excited to be able to take my siblings there. It was a crazy day, we ate at the oh so famous Pink's restaurant; they had some of the most amazing fries and hot dogs! Once we went inside the park, I was surprised to see new rides and a couple more new things, but most haven't changed. My sister and I tackled quite a few big rides, though I noticed Knotts doesn't have as many big roller coasters as Magic Mountain, but it was cool because I felt super cool going on alot of the big coasters they had even though they weren't that bad. And that's just a quick snip of my weekend. Until then, here's some pictures (:

roots for breakfast

In the new Charles Christopher, Charles yanks some roots off the ground for breakfast. Following the last comic, Gilgamesh was complaining he hadn't been served breakfast yet. As cute and adorable Charles is, he hands him the plant to eat. This page was very cute, I think Karl meant for there to be some humor on this page considering that Gilgamesh is a king, so he is used to having nice fancy royal meals handed to him, but instead he's eating roots for breakfast. And so we wait for the journey to continue.

Excuses Excuses.

I missed class Monday because I was sick, and made up some of my blog posts for last week the  night before, on Sunday. So I just found out that one of our assigned blogs was to say why we've been slacking on our blog posts. Which is funny because my personal post that i wrote Sunday, I sorta talked about being behind on my posts.
But this post will be my official reasons post. So I basically think about writing them too much, so sometimes I'll just make myself believe that it's super simple to write and I can do it in like 10 minutes. Which will make me procrastinate even more. Then sometimes I start writing my posts and I just can't get the words right and I don't know what to write about really, so I have a couple started posts sitting in my drafts waiting to be finished and published. Then I'll go to my dad's house for the weekend and I'll forget that they're sitting there til it's too late. Like this post was nearly finished then i left it sitting in my drafts for a couple days. I have a couple more left to complete and i will be all caught up !

The new Charles Christopher !

The second page to Chapter 3 came out yesterday on the leap day! So this comic page starts off with Gilgamesh's eye and him looking into the mountains in the second panel. Then we see the mountain, which looks like the mountain from the first page, before this one. What's interesting about this is that in the previous page we were presented with the same mountain and a silhouette figure which we think is probably Gilgamesh's father. The person per say is left behind by his army to die in a cave of the mountain. So if it is Gilgamesh's father, I say something interesting is to happen in the next couple of pages between these two.
I'm glad we finally go to see Charles Christopher again !
